Doggy Do's Staff

  Daniel Leahy, Owner/Senior Stylist

My pet career began at the age of 15 as a groomer's assistant at a high profile grooming salon here in Connecticut. It was there that I received my training from an award winning groomer and attended seminars given by some of the top professionals in the field to expand my experience. I took a particular interest grooming the Bichon Frise and Poodles, but my all time favorite has always been the Setter. During my employment as a pet stylist for a nationwide corporation I was elevated to management level. Soon I molded my experiences and took the bold step of creating my own business named Doggy Do's in Bloomfield where I met Patty Holton. Patty was beginning a business of her own, My Dogs Daycare, in Avon and recruited me to add Doggy Do's. Now as a sister business we can offer a friendly and happy place for dogs and their families. ‚Äč

Cathy Gombotz,  Senior Stylist

Cathy grew up in Southington Connecticut. While attending Southington High School she proved herself to be quite the sports player. She participated in Volleyball, Basketball, along with Track & Field. After graduating in 1999 Cathy attended Central Connecticut State University on a Track & Field scholarship. She graduated in 2004 with a Communications Degree and a Marketing Degree. While determining where to apply her Degrees, Cathy joined a pet grooming apprenticeship with a nationwide corporation instructed by Rose Ann Leahy, also my mother, in Plainville Connecticut. Through this program Cathy studied A.K.C. certified breeds and how to apply these standards on pet styles. She became well known as the Bichon queen due to her high profile skills grooming the Bichon Frise. Cathy took Rose Ann's position as salon manager in 2007 and became an academy instructor in 2009. Cathy came to Doggy Do's in late 2011 working as a full-time senior stylist with a large fallowing from the Southington, Plainville and Farmington area. Cathy still holds her title of the Bichon queen and also enjoys grooming the Cocker Spaniel.
